Le forme e la consistenza si assomigliano molto. La differenza principale sta nella frutta secca utilizzata nell&#8217;impasto. Nei <a title=\"cantucci\" href=\"http:\/\/ricettedi.it\/cucina\/2009\/09\/cantucci\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cantucci<\/a> ci sono le mandorle, nei <a title=\"tozzetti\" href=\"http:\/\/ricettedi.it\/cucina\/2015\/11\/tozzetti\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">tozzetti<\/a> le nocciole tostate, mentre i Tatoni si impastano con le arachidi.<\/p>\n<p>I Tatoni (in dialetto &#8220;Tatuni&#8221;) sono biscotti secchi tipici dell&#8217;Irpinia. Sono i classici biscotti della festa. Si preparano tutto l&#8217;anno, anche se da qualche parte abbiamo letto che nascono come dolce del periodo di Carnevale. Il nome sembra infatti prendere le sue origini da un personaggio carnevalesco: Tatone, appunto.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tatone era un vecchietto che si fingeva moribondo<\/strong> e che il marted\u00ec grasso (l&#8217;ultimo giorno di Carnevale) veniva portato per le strade del paese. Durante la sfilata di carnevale, il corteo di gente che lo accompagnava, piangendo e gridando con urla strazianti, ad ogni sosta chiedeva qualcosa da mangiare per Tatone. Il finto prete, il finto dottore ed i parenti che lo accompagnavano dicevano: &#8220;mangia Tatone, mangia&#8221;. Ad ogni sosta del corteo, tutti offrivano qualcosa. Il vecchietto moribondo mangiava e beveva fino a che, allo scoccare della mezzanotte, Tatone moriva davvero per aver troppo mangiato e bevuto, decretando la fine del carnevale e portando con se la goliardia, gli scherzi e le grandi abbuffate. Cominciava cos\u00ec la prima settimana di quaresima &#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/ricettedi.it\/cucina\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/02_tatoni.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\"
